Sentences carrying up to 16 years` imprisonment handed down in four  cases of treason

ArmInfo.  Sentences carrying up to 16 years' imprisonment were handed down in four cases of  treason, according to a statement from the Prosecutor General's  Office of the Republic of Armenia, which summarized data for  2025-2026.

In particular, as noted in the statement by the supervisory  authority, on December 23, 2025, by a decision of the criminal court  of general jurisdiction of first instance of the Gegharkunik region,  an individual was found guilty under Part 1 of Article 418 of the  Criminal Code and sentenced to 15 years' imprisonment, as well as the  deprivation of military rank as an additional penalty. In 2025-2026,  four sentences were issued under Article 418, Part 1 of the Criminal  Code. On March 3, 2026, the Gegharkunik Regional Criminal Court of  First Instance found the individual guilty under Article 418, Part 1  of the Criminal Code and sentenced them to 15 years in prison. On  March 10, 2026, the Syunik Regional Criminal Court of First Instance  found the individual guilty under Article 418, Part 1 of the Criminal  Code and sentenced them to 15 years in prison.

On June 26, 2026, the Yerevan City Criminal Court of First Instance  found the individual guilty under Article 418, Part 1 of the Criminal  Code and sentenced them to 16 years in prison, as well as  confiscation of property worth over $20,000. Thus, during the  specified period, the courts sentenced 4 individuals found guilty of  treason to 15-16 years of imprisonment, in one case to deprivation of  military rank, and in the other to confiscation of property.
