ArmInfo. In relations with Russia, the Armenian authorities are frankly stating their position.  Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated this at a briefing on  August 27, commenting on the fact that Yerevan's withdrawal from the  CSTO has effectively led to a shifting of responsibility.

According to him, official Yerevan respects the position of other  states and expects them to treat Armenia's position similarly.  "Armenia does not shift responsibility to anyone and expects its  partners to treat it accordingly," the Prime Minister noted.

He declined to comment on recent statements by the State Duma Speaker  and the CSTO Secretary General, noting only that the Speaker of the  National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia, Ruben Rubinyan, had  recently made a statement on these issues, and he had nothing to add  to it.

Pashinyan was asked about the reasons and consequences of the change  in the wording of Armenia-Russia relations in the Armenian  government's program for 2026-2031, which does not include the word  "strategic." In response to this question, Pashinyan stated that  after the events of September 2022 (Azerbaijan's aggression against  Armenia in the direction of Jermuk - ed.), "you will ask why the CSTO  and Russia failed to fulfill their security obligations. What should  I answer?"
