Two land plots returned to Ashotsk community

ArmInfo.  As a result of the prosecutor's office's intervention, two land plots totaling 2.21  hectares have been returned to the ownership of the Ashotsk community  in the Shirak region. This was reported in a statement by the RA  Prosecutor General's Office.

During an investigation conducted under its authority to protect  state (community) interests, the Shirak Regional Prosecutor's Office  determined that A.A., who served as the head of the Ashotsk village  from 2006 to 2016 and as the head of the extended Ashotsk community  from 2016 to 2018, illegally leased 1.49 hectares of arable land and  0.72 hectares of pastureland to private individuals.

The investigation revealed that in 2009, by decision of the community  head, the aforementioned land plots were leased for 25 years to an  individual who was declared the winner of the "auction." A review of  the cadastral file revealed that the auction held to transfer the  land plots was conducted in violation of legal requirements. Based on  the above, the regional prosecutor's office submitted a petition to  the acting head of the Ashotsk community, demanding that measures be  taken to prevent the illegal possession of land plots by individuals.

As a result of the petition, and in accordance with the instructions  of the Cadastre Committee dated August 21 and 25, 2026, the lease  rights of the aforementioned land plots by individuals were  terminated. Two land plots, with a total area of 2.21 hectares and a  cadastral value of 1 million 63 thousand drams, were returned to the  ownership of the Ashotsk community.

To date, as a result of the prosecutor's office's intervention, seven  land plots, with a total area of 25.32 hectares and a cadastral value  of 18 million 169 thousand drams, have been returned to the ownership  of the Ashotsk community.
