The National Leader of the Turkmen People had a telephone conversation with the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan

ArmInfo. On August 25, 2026, a telephone conversation was held between the National Leader of the Turkmen People, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.

After exchanging warm greetings, Hero Arkadag and the President of Kazakhstan noted with satisfaction the high level of relations between the two countries.

The National Leader of the Turkmen people expressed his gratitude to President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev for his great contribution to the development of traditionally friendly, fraternal, and good-neighborly relations between the peoples of Turkmenistan and the Republic of Kazakhstan.

On behalf of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and on his own behalf, the National Leader of the Turkmen people sincerely congratulated the head of Kazakhstan on an important political event – the first elections to the Kurultai of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

“In Turkmenistan, we view the results of these elections as a wise decision and a united expression of the will of the people of Kazakhstan, as your personal political victory, and as the result of the reforms in the political, economic, and social life of the state that have been successfully carried out under your leadership,” said Hero Arkadag. At the same time, confidence was expressed that the people of the brotherly country, preserving their ancient and rich historical heritage, as well as their cultural and spiritual values, will continue to confidently follow a course of development.

President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev thanked the National Leader of the Turkmen people for his congratulations and kind words, noting that he highly values the support of Turkmenistan and personal attention of Hero-Arkadag to a historic event of great importance to Kazakhstan – the parliamentary elections.

The Head of Kazakhstan emphasized that the congratulations of Hero Arkadag serve as proof of sincere friendship and good-neighborly relations between the two brotherly nations, and he expressed special gratitude to the observers from Turkmenistan for monitoring the electoral process.

It was noted that the Turkmen observers performed their duties well during the preparation and conduct of the elections to the Kurultai of the Republic of Kazakhstan and objectively assessed the results, which fully comply with national legislation and international standards.

At the same time, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev expressed confidence that the legislative bodies of both countries would continue to maintain close cooperation, contributing to the strengthening of Kazakh-Turkmen relations.

Expressing his gratitude for the kind words, Hero Arkadag noted that relations between the two nations have developed over many centuries on the principles of friendship, brotherhood, good neighborliness, and mutual respect, which serve as a solid foundation for the development of interstate relations in the present day and for the long term.

It was emphasized that the main factor driving the development of cooperation is an open, trusting, constructive, and friendly dialogue at the highest state level.

In this context, Hero Arkadag underlined that the meetings between the heads of state and leaders of two countries provide powerful impetus for the advancement of interstate relations, contributing to the deepening of mutual understanding, formulation of strategic decisions, as well as the determination of priorities for joint activities.

It was noted that the two countries cooperate closely on the international political stage, actively participating in the implementation of large-scale, long-term strategies and programs at the global and regional levels. In this regard, Hero Arkadag thanked President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev for the firm and unwavering support of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Turkmenistan’s neutral foreign policy course and for the country’s initiatives put forward at the United Nations and other reputable international organizations.

Touching upon the issues of bilateral cooperation, the President of Kazakhstan noted that these relations are developing dynamically in the spirit of strategic partnership. In this context, it was emphasized that the results of the state visit of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov to the Republic of Kazakhstan last November gave a significant impulse to relations between the two countries.

Speaking about contacts at the highest state level, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev highlighted the significance of his meeting with the National Leader of the Turkmen people, the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Hero Arkadag during the Forum dedicated to the International Year of Peace and Trust and the 30^th anniversary of neutrality of Turkmenistan, which took place last December in the Turkmen capital.

Emphasizing the great importance of two President’s participation in multilateral forums held in both countries, the President of Kazakhstan once again emphasized that he awaits with great respect the participation of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov in the Aqaba Process meeting on “Security in the Field of Artificial Intelligence”, which will be held in early November of this year in Astana.

Noting the extensive joint efforts to strengthen regional cooperation, the National Leader of Turkmen people noted with satisfaction the similarity or closeness of standpoints of two countries in this regard.

Hero Arkadag expressed his gratitude to the leader of Kazakhstan for supporting the proposals of Turkmenistan to hold three important summits during the period of October 7 – 9 of current year in the National Tourist Zone “Avaza” and for confirming his personal participation in these forums. The events are the meeting of the Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia and the Republic of Azerbaijan, the meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the CIS, and the Caspian Environmental Summit. The National Leader of the Turkmen people emphasized that great importance is attached to the upcoming visit of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to Turkmenistan.

After reaffirming his participation in three important summits to be held this October in the National Tourist Zone “Avaza”, the President of Kazakhstan thanked Hero Arkadag for Turkmenistan’s accession to the Treaty on Friendship, Good-Neighborliness, and Cooperation for the Development of Central Asia in the 21^st Century.

Emphasizing the shared cultural and spiritual values of the Kazakh and Turkmen peoples, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev noted the beauty, grace, and uniqueness of the Akhal-Teke horse breed, which is a great national treasure of Turkmenistan.

Taking this opportunity, Hero Arkadag reaffirmed Turkmenistan’s readiness and intention to strengthen friendship and comprehensive cooperation with the Republic of Kazakhstan, wishing to the President of friendly country good health, long life and success in his state duties.  He also wished peace, happiness, well-being and prosperity to the brotherly Kazakh people.

At the conclusion of the telephone conversation, the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev expressed their confidence that the traditionally friendly Turkmen-Kazakh relations will continue to develop successfully. They also extended their best wishes for well-being and prosperity to the brotherly peoples of two countries.
