ARF: Nikol Pashinyan is trying to neutralize all opposition centers  that could become obstacle to implementation of his program

ArmInfo. Today it's Kocharyan's family, tomorrow it's someone else's. Pashinyan is trying to isolate the opposition. Ishkhan Saghatelyan, a member of the ARF  Dashnaktsutyun Supreme Body and an MP from the opposition "Armenia"  faction, stated this in a conversation with journalists on August 25.

"The man who finds himself at the helm of the government yesterday  announced the final dissolution of the Third Republic, the handover  of Artsakh, the legitimization of ethnic cleansing, and the  establishment of the so-called Fourth Republic at the request of  Turkey and Azerbaijan. At the same time, he also openly announced the  transfer of new territories to Azerbaijan. Along with all this, he is  attempting to neutralize all opposition centers, resistance forces,  and political forces that could become an obstacle to the  implementation of this program. To implement this anti-Armenian,  anti-state program, people are being detained under various charges,  isolated, and every possible means is being used to clear the field.  Today it's the Kocharyan family, tomorrow it's someone else's family,  the day after it's someone else's opposition force. Not a single  citizen of the Republic of Armenia with a national worldview should  be free," noted Ishkhan Saghatelyan.

He added that this process was not planned specifically for that  night, but the prime minister made a statement yesterday, and today  it was carried out. "Now he'll make a statement about someone else,  and they'll do the same to everyone else," he said.

The parliamentarian also recalled Pashinyan's statement about judges.  According to Saghatelyan, the prime minister is dissatisfied with the  fact that law enforcement agencies are following his orders, while  the courts aren't. "He's telling the judges: 'If you don't do what I  say, it means you're taking bribes from the former authorities,'"  Saghatelyan said.

As a reminder, the Anti-Corruption Committee has been conducting a  search of the home of Levon Kocharyan, a member of the National  Assembly of the Republic of Armenia from the Armenia faction, since  early this morning. Subsequently, it was reported that Robert  Kocharyan, the second president of the Republic of Armenia, and his  son, Sedrak Kocharyan, have been detained. According to the Anti-  Corruption Committee, searches and other procedural actions are being  conducted at several dozen addresses as part of the criminal  investigation. Early this morning, security forces raided the home of  Robert Kocharyan, the second president, and brought him to the  Anti-Corruption Committee.

This all occurred after a verbal altercation between Levon Kocharyan  and Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan in parliament the previous day.  Pashinyan questioned how Kocharyan managed to become a millionaire  during his 10 years in power. The prime minister then declared that  Levon Kocharyan's children would not inherit his millions because all  illegally acquired property must be returned, and from the entire  "Kocharyan and Sargsyan clan," and drew the attention of law  enforcement to this. Levon Kocharyan, in turn, stated that in a  democratic country, the head of government has no right to make such  statements and declare someone guilty without grounds.
