Ex-president Robert Kocharyan taken to RA National Security Service

ArmInfo. It has been reported that the second president of the Republic of Armenia, Robert Kocharyan, has been taken to the National Security Service of the  Republic of Armenia. This information was confirmed by Bagrat  Mikoyan, head of the second president's office.

"This morning, investigative bodies took President Kocharyan to the  Anti-Corruption Committee.  Yesterday, rumors in the press were  confirmed: another government attack on the second president and his  family has begun," Bagrat Mikoyan noted.

Furthermore, searches have been underway since the early morning of  August 25 at the home of Levon Kocharyan, a member of the National  Assembly of the Republic of Armenia from the opposition "Armenia"  faction and the son of the second president of the Republic of  Armenia, Robert Kocharyan. 

Mesrop Manukyan, a member of parliament from the same faction,  reported this on his Facebook page, posting a video.

"At around 7:00 a.m., law enforcement officers broke into the home of  National Assembly member Levon Kocharyan. The order was given  directly from the National Assembly rostrum," he noted.

Media outlets also learned that early this morning, tax authorities  also sealed Toyota's Yerevan office following yesterday's verbal  altercation between Levon Kocharyan and Nikol Pashinyan in the  National Assembly. It should be noted that one of Toyota's  shareholders is Robert Kocharyan's eldest son, Sedrak Kocharyan.

As a reminder, Nikol Pashinyan ordered law enforcement agencies to  strip the second president of the Republic of Armenia, Robert  Kocharyan, and the third president of the Republic of Armenia, Serzh  Sargsyan, of their property the day before.

Meanwhile, the RA Anti-Corruption Committee reported that searches  and other procedural actions are being conducted at several dozen  addresses as part of the criminal proceedings conducted by the agency  for corruption cases. Additional information will be provided if  necessary.
