I will be very happy if CSTO decides to expel Armenia; this will  relieve Yerevan of dilemma of whether to leave organization - RA  premier 

ArmInfo.  Armenia does not plan to return to the CSTO or intensify its activities within the organization in the next five years. This was stated by RA Prime  Minister Nikol Pashinyan from the podium of the National Assembly on  August 24, responding to a question from MP Marianna Ghahramanyan.

The MP, in particular, noted that the government's program makes no  mention of the CSTO.  In response, Pashinyan stated that the Civil  Contract party's election program clearly states that the country  does not plan to return to the CSTO in the next five years.

"I can say with confidence that we will not intensify our activities  in the CSTO. I know that discussions are ongoing within the CSTO, and  the charter provides for such a possibility: a country could be  expelled from the organization. I would be very happy if the  organization decides to expel Armenia from the CSTO. At the very  least, this would relieve us of the dilemma of whether to leave the  structure or not," the head of government said.

The prime minister added that Yerevan had asked the organization all  its questions but had received no answers, so Armenia's interest in  the CSTO had been completely exhausted. "The government program  doesn't mention the Collective Security Treaty Organization once  because we've asked all the questions and received no answers, so our  interest in the CSTO has dried up," Nikol Pashinyan remarked.

Responding to a question about the new security architecture and  alternatives, Pashinyan emphasized that Armenia's goal is the  possibility of peaceful coexistence in the region without dependence  on external powers.
