International recognition of Armenian Genocide to be removed from  Armenia`s foreign policy agenda - RA premier 

ArmInfo.  Armenia will abandon the priority of international recognition of the Armenian Genocide; this issue will be removed from the Armenian state's foreign policy  agenda. This was stated by RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on  August 24, while presenting the government's program for 2026-2031 to  the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia.

According to him, it is necessary to abandon the topic of the  Armenian Genocide as a political tool and geopolitical weapon in the  international arena. Armenia, the Prime Minister noted, should not  allow other states to use the Armenian Genocide as a political  weapon. He cited Israel as an example. "While the authorities were  trying to formulate arguments to explain their new approach to the  public, the developments surrounding Israel's possible recognition of  the Armenian Genocide provided an eloquent answer. Israeli  authorities 'decisively launched' the process of recognizing the  Armenian Genocide, but subsequently 'with equal determination' halted  it. This situation demonstrated how the topic of the Genocide can be  exploited by international players for their own political gain," the  Prime Minister emphasized.

He added that "we all saw and were forced to see what was happening  behind this process. International players, pardon the expression,  'bang their heads' over the remains of our victims, but it's our  heads that are hurting. They are turning the bones of our dead into  weapons with which to shoot each other, but in reality, we are the  ones dying-as happened in the late 19th and 20th centuries. We must  put an end to the weaponization of the Armenian Genocide," Nikol  Pashinyan stated.
