TRIPP project to run along line in southern Armenia that existed  during Soviet times - RA premier 

ArmInfo.  The TRIPP railway route will run along a line in southern Armenia that existed during Soviet times. This was stated by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on  August 24 at a session of the National Assembly of the Republic of  Armenia, while presenting the government's program for 2026-2031.

According to him, the "Trump Route for International Peace and  Prosperity" (TRIPP) project will lead Armenia out of the blockade. It  will be implemented on the territory in accordance with the  principles of territorial integrity, sovereignty and jurisdiction of  Armenia. According to the Prime Minister, the blockade of the  Armenian state has now been partially overcome, since since November  2025, the Azerbaijani railway through the territory of Georgia has  been open for the import of goods to Armenia and their export from  the republic, and the Akhalkalaki-Kars railway was opened in May for  imports to Armenia and exports from it. Pashinyan noted that the  railway route will pass through Nrnadzor-Agarak, along Armenia's  southern border, along the banks of the Araks River. This route will  not only resolve issues related to the unblocking of transport and  energy communications but also provide West-East communications. The  Prime Minister emphasized that this railway will connect Armenia with  Russia and Central Asian countries via Azerbaijan. Freight trains  will travel from Agarak to Nakhichevan. He added that the agreement  on the project is undergoing ratification.

The "Trump Route" is a transit corridor project approximately 32-43  km long through the Syunik region in southern Armenia, which is  intended to connect the mainland of Azerbaijan with its exclave of  Nakhichevan.
