ArmInfo. None of the three representatives from the "Strong Armenia" faction were elected as chairs of parliamentary committees. By taking this step, the ruling "Civil Contract" faction sought to project strength, despite having no real power. Samvel Karapetyan, the leader of the "Strong Armenia" bloc, made this statement to journalists on August 20.
According to Karapetyan, it was no coincidence that the bloc laid claim to the Committee on European Integration. The politician noted that this was necessary to pursue a correct policy and carry out appropriate activities regarding relations with the European Union.
"Civil Contract has no strength, but they project strength. And generally, who can figure out what is on their minds? We are doing our job; whether they choose to elect us or not is their concern," Karapetyan stated.
Recall, the ruling parliamentary faction previously voted down all three candidates nominated for committee chairmanships.
