ArmInfo. The ideology of "Real Armenia" emerged victorious in the parliamentary elections held on June 7, as stated by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan at a government meeting on August 20, when presenting the Cabinet's program for 2026-2031.
According to him, the elections essentially demonstrated that this ideology has become official. Pashinyan noted that he first began speaking about this ideology in 2024, and the ruling Civil Contract Party and its government shared it. Now, as the prime minister emphasized, the people, with their votes in the elections, have also said "yes" to this ideology. Based on this, as Pashinyan noted, another point noted in the government's program should be consolidated: the transition to the Fourth Republic. The Prime Minister recalled that this was discussed at the 7th Congress of the ruling party, where a corresponding declaration was adopted.
The head of government, pointing out the difference between the Third and Fourth Republics, emphasized that the Third Republic was created within the logic of conflict and confrontation, while the Fourth Republic is being formed within the logic of a peaceful agenda and peace. "The 1990 Declaration stated that the primary function of the Third Republic was the restoration of historical justice, which was the basis for certain actions, including the Karabakh movement. Political figures of the older and middle generations, including myself, grew up within the context of this movement. Today, we have introduced a peaceful agenda, which, in turn, has led to the ideology of 'Real Armenia.' This is a fundamentally important issue," Nikol Pashinyan emphasized.
He added that the government's new program lacks the logic of the Karabakh movement. "In recent years, the government has decided to reread pages that remained closed for many years. This rethinking has led to the formation of a peace agenda and a real Armenia," the head of government stated. According to Pashinyan, a corresponding message has also come from the Armenian public. Under the peace agenda, the government will transition from crisis management to regular management, focusing more on strengthening human rights, economic diplomacy (in connection with this, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will be renamed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade), issues related to the spread of artificial intelligence, and healthcare issues.
It should be noted that after approval by the government, the Cabinet of Ministers' program for 2026-2031 will be submitted to parliament for review and approval.
