ArmInfo. Armenia will have a new holiday – Public Service Day. It will be celebrated on June 23 and will be a working day. At its meeting on August 20, the RA government approved amendments to the Law "On Holidays and Commemorative Days."
It should be noted that on December 20, 2002, the UN General Assembly, by resolution 57/277, designated June 23 as Public Service Day. According to paragraph 3 of this resolution, the UN calls on Member States to organize special events on this day to highlight the contribution of public service to national development. The adoption of the bill is intended to evaluate, encourage and strengthen the role of public servants in the sustainable development of the country, the effective provision of public services, the introduction of innovative approaches and the implementation of unified state policies.
