


ArmInfo. An Armenian Armed Forces serviceman, Suren Mambreevich Vardanyan, has been killed in a traffic accident in the town of Chambarak, and several other servicemen were injured, according to the press service of the Armenian Ministry of Defense.
The defense agency reported that on August 19, at approximately 21:00, on a highway leading to Chambarak, a GAZ-53 truck driven by a local resident struck a group of servicemen under as-yet undetermined circumstances. One of the soldiers died at the scene.
"An investigation is underway to fully clarify the circumstances of the incident. The Ministry of Defense expresses its condolences and support to the family and relatives of the fallen serviceman," the statement reads.
The ministry emphasized that the other injured servicemen were transported to a military hospital, where they are under medical supervision and their lives are not in danger. However, the defense agency did not specify the exact number of injured soldiers.
