ArmInfo. The opposition faction "Strong Armenia" left the National Assembly session hall, thereby expressing its disagreement with the decision of NA Deputy Speaker Vahagn Aleksanyan to disqualify David Ghazinyan from participating in parliamentary sessions for the entire day.
Speaking to journalists, Ghazinyan emphasized the inadmissibility of Aleksanyan commenting on every speech by opposition representatives. "There is nothing of the sort in the NA rules of procedure; we specifically warned about this, speaking about the inadmissibility of comments, often provocative ones," Ghazinyan stated.
In turn, faction secretary Tigran Abrahamyan also stated that by leaving the meeting hall, they expressed their disagreement with the decision made regarding David Ghazinyan. "Mr. Ghazinyan's remark was appropriate, as the chair of the meeting should lead the meeting and not interrupt every speech. We call for the parliament to return to normal workflow," Tigran Abrahamyan added.
Note, Vahagn Aleksanyan announced the imposition of disciplinary action against David Ghazinyan, depriving him of the right to vote at one meeting.
Note, immediately after the faction's exit, journalists captured on camera a moment of confrontation between Strong Armenia MP Ruben Mkhitaryan and Civil Contract representative Arman Yeghoyan, who was offended by what he considered the ironic statement of the opposition member.
