


ArmInfo. The National Assembly, meeting on August 18, discussed the election of the Chairperson of the NA Standing Committee on Healthcare. The country's ruling Civil Contract faction nominated Lusine Badalyan for the position.
Taron Chakhoyan, a member of parliament from the ruling faction, presented the candidate's biographical information and work experience.
In her speech, Lusine Badalyan noted that high-quality healthcare is the foundation of a strong state and a healthy society, which ensures economic development and reduces the social burden on the state. According to the MP, before 2018, the system faced serious problems, in particular, low accessibility and the centralization of regional healthcare in the capital. To address these issues, regional medical institutions were transferred to the ministry's jurisdiction, major investments were made, and 21 healthcare facilities were built or renovated between 2021 and 2025. It was noted that reforms are ongoing and aimed at developing human potential and expanding access to services.
The candidate emphasized that during the work of the 7th convocation of the National Assembly, the National Assembly's Health Committee reviewed 91 bills, nine of which were developed by her. During the work of the 8th convocation of the National Assembly, the committee reviewed 86 bills, 19 of which were developed by Lusine Badalyan.
