ArmInfo.Taron Chakhoyan, a member of the ruling Civil Contract faction in the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia, held a press-briefing before the start of the NA session, addressing an incident in parliament marked by mutual insults between the opposition and the government.
Commenting on the situation, Chakhoyan noted that the opposition MPs demonstrated inappropriate behavior, which the ruling faction categorically objects to. "Can you imagine a situation where every MP, approaching the podium, must remember their deceased relatives, remember, for example, their relatives who suffered during the Republican Party's rule or during the Kocharyan regime, and at the same time insult those sitting in the hall? I don't think that's the right approach. People need to learn to control their emotions," Chakhoyan said.
When asked whether guarantees could be given that similar incidents would not recur, he noted that ruling party deputies will try to continue working as usual, but no one can guarantee the behavior of the opposition.
