On August 11, Prosecutor General of the Republic of Armenia Anna Vardapayetan, accompanied by Gegharkunik Province Prosecutor Gagik Ayvazyan, inspected areas cleared of illegal structures located below Lake Sevan's absolute water level threshold and issued a number of directives to the regional prosecutor.
According to the Prosecutor General's Office, the directives include resuming the demolition of illegal structures once the beach season concludes, collaborating with the departments responsible for confiscating illegal assets and protecting state interests to advance ongoing lawsuits for state-owned private homes, and filing new lawsuits against remaining unauthorized lakeside properties.
Vardapetyan also suggested transforming cleared land into public spaces, such as community beaches, and called for the removal of remaining secondary metal structures. Furthermore, she recommended that the "Sevan National Park" SNCO negotiate with individuals and legal entities to terminate lease agreements that no longer comply with current legislation.
During the visit, Gagik Ayvazyan reported that between December 2025 and July 1, 2026, a total of 201 illegal primary and secondary structures across 68 land plots below the absolute lake level threshold were demolished following prosecutorial orders. Additionally, two agreements with the Sevan National Park were officially terminated.
