RA President: Armenian authorities  interested in deepening,  strengthening, and developing relations with Egypt

ArmInfo. On August 11, President of the Republic of Armenia Vahagn Khachaturyan received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Egypt to Armenia, Amal Afifi, on the occasion of Egypt's national holiday, Revolution Day.  According to the presidential press service, Vahagn  Khachaturyan congratulated the ambassador and the friendly people of Egypt, asking her to convey his congratulations to Egyptian President  Abdel Fattah el- Sisi.

" Throughout the millennial history of our two nations, there has  never been a historical chapter marked by conflict between our  peoples, which is highly commendable. It is commendable in the sense  that we continue these best traditions following the restoration of  our independence. Our government and authorities are committed to  deepening, strengthening, and developing relations with Egypt," the  President noted.  In turn, Ambassador Afifi expressed her gratitude  for the reception and the warm congratulations.  She thanked Vahagn  Khachaturyan for the reception and congratulations.

During the meeting, the interlocutors touched upon the close  cooperation established between Armenia and Egypt in political,  economic, cultural, tourism, and other spheres, emphasizing the  importance of further expanding and developing ties in new areas.

Particular importance was attached to the potential for cooperation  in high technology, artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity. It  was noted that the exchange of experience and knowledge in these  areas could form the basis for the implementation of joint innovation  programs and the development of new technological solutions,  particularly given the opening of the Artificial Intelligence Factory  in Armenia several days ago.

The parties also emphasized the importance of deepening cooperation  in education and science, emphasizing the need to expand the exchange  of scientific and educational programs, students, young  professionals, and scientists.

The effective cooperation established between Armenia and Egypt on  international platforms was highly praised. It was noted that  cooperation based on mutual trust is of great importance both for  advancing the interests of both countries and for the further  development of bilateral relations. The importance of high- level  reciprocal visits was emphasized, as a driver for political dialogue  and a catalyst for broader economic, business, and cultural ties.   The meeting also discussed the 17th Conference of the Parties to the  UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP-17), scheduled to be  held in Armenia in October. President Khachaturyan expressed hope for  high-level Egyptian participation, noting that the conference will  provide new opportunities to advance cooperation between the two  nations regarding the climate agenda, sustainable development, green  technologies, and innovation.
