Sharmazanov: Actions must serve Armenia, not out of spite toward  Russia

ArmInfo. On one hand, the Armenian authorities claim a desire to resolve issues with  Russia, yet on the other hand, they engage in a continuous series of  telephone conversations with Kyiv officials, writes Eduard  Sharmazanov, a board member of the Republican Party.

" What is the point of holding telephone conversations with Ukrainian  officials, especially now? Earlier, the Speaker of the National  Assembly spoke by phone with his Ukrainian counterpart, and now the  Minister of Foreign Affairs has held a telephone conversation with  his Kyiv counterpart. And what are they discussing—what shift in  events? I don't think there's any. hey have simply reduced to zero  the chances of a positive resolution of economic, export, and  agricultural issues with the EAEU and Russia. How can one be so  irresponsible regarding the problems of one's own citizens?"  Sharmazanov stated.

He noted that if there is a genuine desire to resolve the problems of  domestic exporters and farmers in EAEU countries, there is no reason  to exacerbate the situation through public telephone conversations  with official Kyiv representatives.

"You might say this is the sovereign right of the Republic of  Armenia. Of course it is, but what benefit will the economy and  citizens of the Republic of Armenia gain from this? One must act in  the name of the republic, not out of spite toward the Russian  Federation," the politician emphasized.
