Ruben Vardanyan`s wife is awaiting contact with RA MFA to organize  women`s humanitarian visit to Baku

ArmInfo. Ruben Vardanyan's wife is awaiting contact with officials from the Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs to organize a women's humanitarian visit to Baku.   She wrote this on Ruben Vardanyan's official Facebook page.

Specifically, Zonabend said that she learned from the media that the  Ministry of Foreign Affairs was designated as the agency responsible  for organizing the meeting with her.

However, she clarified that contact with her has not yet been  established and the contact information of the responsible official  has not yet been provided. "I await the contact information of the  responsible official and hope for a substantive meeting to discuss  further steps to organize a women's humanitarian visit to Baku and  other issues related to Armenian citizens imprisoned in Azerbaijan,"  Vardanyan's wife noted.  Veronika Zonabend also stated that she was  pleased to read in Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's August 8  message that the detention of "our compatriots in Azerbaijan" is  deeply concerning and alarming to all of us.

"I fully share this assessment and was pleased to read these words,"  she wrote.

As a reminder, Vardanyan and seven other former and current Artsakh  officials have been held in Azerbaijani captivity since late  September 2023, in violation of all international law. The  international community ignores the fact that Artsakh officials are  in Azerbaijani captivity. It should be noted that the exact number of  Armenian prisoners of war and hostages held in Azerbaijani prisons  remains unknown.  Experts estimate the number to be several hundred.  Today, Azerbaijani authorities confirm the presence of 19 Armenians  in their custody. Among those held in Azerbaijani captivity are  former Artsakh presidents Arkady Ghukasyan, Bako Sahakyan, and Arayik  Harutyunyan; former Foreign Minister David Babayan; as well as  Parliament Speaker David Ishkhanyan; former Commander of the Artsakh  Defense Army General Levon Mnatsakanyan; General David Manukyan; and  former State Minister Ruben Vardanyan. In early February, a Baku  puppet court sentenced Arayik Harutyunyan, David Babayan, David  Ishkhanyan, David Manukyan, and Levon Mnatsakanyan to life  imprisonment, while Ruben Vardanyan, Bako Sahakyan, and Arkady  Ghukasyan were sentenced to 20 years in prison on trumped-up charges.  The so-called court sentenced the remaining Artsakh residents to up  to 15 years in prison.
