ArmInfo. Former legendary goalkeeper of the Armenian national football team Roman Berezovsky, in a conversation with the Belarusian publication «RB Sport», commented on «Ararat-Armenia»'s victory over «Celje» in the third qualifying round match of the Champions League.
The match at the Vazgen Sargsyan Republican Stadium in Yerevan took place on Tuesday, August 4, and ended with a score of 2:1 in favor of the hosts.
«In my opinion, «Ararat-Armenia» made a small but very important step by defeating «Celje» in the first match. I have no doubt that the return game against the Slovenians will be very difficult. But, in my opinion, the Yerevan team is capable of advancing to the final qualifying round and beating both «Mjällby» and «Slovan». So I believe that soon an Armenian club will qualify for the group stage of the Champions League for the first time in history,» Berezovsky said.
The return match will take place on August 11 in Celje.
As the publication writes, in case of victory, the Armenian club will advance to the final qualifying round of the Champions League, where it will face the winner of the «Mjällby» — «Slovan» tie.
