Yerevan authorities continue to develop inclusive services

ArmInfo.Deputy Mayor of Yerevan Sargis Madatyan and Gevorg Gharibyan, Head of the Department of Children and Social Protection, visited the Remote Sign Language Interpretation Center  of the Armenian Deaf Society NGO.

As noted in a statement issued by the Mayor's Office, with the  support of the Yerevan Municipality, the center facilitates  communication between people with impaired hearing and  medical  institutions, banks, government, and other service providers, thereby  promoting their full integration. From January to June 2026 alone,  the center processed 4,111 calls.

During the visit, the challenges faced by people with impaired  hearing were discussed, including difficulties in accessing emergency  medical services outside of regular working hours. A method has been  developed to quickly determine the location of a service recipient  when necessary.
