ArmInfo. It's not the law that's acting against the opposition, but the will of one man. This was stated by Levon Kocharyan, a member of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia from the opposition bloc "Armenia" (son of the second president of the Republic of Armenia, the bloc's leader, Robert Kocharyan), in a conversation with journalists on August 5.
Responding to a question about accusations from government officials about the "immeasurable wealth" of the second president's family, Levon Kocharyan noted that everything that exists is legal. "I said this from the parliamentary rostrum, and I'm saying it now. The trial is currently underway, and naturally, we will show all of this," the parliamentarian stated, adding that it's not the law that's acting against the opposition forces, but the will of one man. "We understand perfectly well that the kind of insolence that's happening in connection with Gagik Tsarukyan could happen to anyone. Just a week after the elections, tax officials entered almost every company in which any member of our family has a stake. Even the stores, office, and workshops of my wife, Sirusho," the younger Kocharyan noted, adding that they were unable to discover any violations because none existed. "It was simply an act of intimidation," Levon Kocharyan remarked.
