Former Yerevan City Hall official  charged with illegal alienation of   land plot

ArmInfo. The Anti-Corruption Committee of the Republic of Armenia has completed its preliminary criminal investigation into a former head of the  Yerevan Municipality's Architecture and Urban Development Department  who served from 2010 to 2018, uncovering official misconduct and  property alienation.

As reported by the Anti-Corruption Committee's press service, a  preliminary investigation revealed that the official in question  prepared and submitted false information to the mayor in order to  illegally change the designated use of a 2,500-square-meter plot of  land located at an address in Yerevan and illegally transfer it to  the son of the deputy mayor.  The investigation found that the  official issued a false certificate concerning a building in the  Student Park area to facilitate the registration of land ownership  for a restaurant complex. This property was transferred to the wife  of the former head of the third president's bodyguard service for  over 24 million drams in violation of the Land Code, causing  substantial damage to public interests.

During the preliminary investigation, charges were brought against a  former Yerevan Municipality official.  The preliminary investigation  of the criminal case has been completed
