Civil court to consider lawsuit by Wings of Unity party member  against RA premier 

ArmInfo.The Civil Court of Armenia has accepted for consideration a lawsuit filed by Liparit Drmeyan, a member of the Wings of Unity party and former head of the  Office of the Representative of Armenia on International Legal  Affairs, against Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.  This was reported  in a statement posted in the Datalex legal documents system.

According to the source, Drmeyan is demanding that Pashinyan retract  information deemed slanderous.  The case will be heard by Judge  Alfred Vardanyan.

The politician filed the lawsuit following statements made against  him by the Armenian Prime Minister at a briefing on July 30. During a  briefing, Pashinyan then called on law enforcement agencies to  investigate the activities of Liparit Drmeyan, the former head of the  Office of the Representative of Armenia on International Legal  Affairs, including information about his accounts and assets. This  occurred when he raised the dispute surrounding the Electric Networks  of Armenia company and the international arbitration ruling. He then  addressed law enforcement agencies, noting that his words should be  considered a report of a possible crime. The Prosecutor General's  Office later announced that the appeal had been accepted for  investigation.
