


ArmInfo. Criminal proceedings have been initiated against Avet Konjoryan, the brother of Hayk Konjoryan, a member of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia from the ruling Civil Contract Party. This was reported to the media by the Investigative Committee of Armenia.
The agency clarified that the proceedings were initiated based on the elements of a crime under Part 1 of Article 297 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia (hooliganism).
A report of Avet Konjoryan's beating was previously received. It was later revealed that the victim's fellow party members were involved in the crime. Five people have been detained in connection with the case. Millon Mining director Babken Hovakimyan, Abovyan community council member Nairi Hakobyan, and their acquaintances were implicated in the attack. Media outlets published CCTV footage allegedly showing Avet Konjoryan shouting obscenities at his would-be attackers.
