RA Prime Minister: Next five years то open up new opportunities and  bring new challenges

ArmInfo. On August 3, RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan introduced the newly appointed Chief of Staff Lilit Makunts to the staff of the Prime Minister's Office.

According to the government press service, the Prime Minister first  thanked former Chief of Staff Arayik Harutyunyan for his work, noting  that he has successfully supported the Prime Minister's priorities  over the past five years. The head of state wished Arayik Harutyunyan  success in his work as a member of the National Assembly, adding that  this is very important for a public politician.

The Prime Minister recalled that Lilit Makunts was as a member of the  government in 2018, serving as the Minister of Culture. She then  moved to parliament, where she led the My Step parliamentary faction,  served as the Republic of Armenia's Ambassador to the United States,  and then as the Prime Minister's Chief Advisor. "Ms. Makunts will now  also head the Prime Minister's Office, and I believe  she will make a  significant contribution to the further development of  Armenia," the  Prime Minister said.

Arayik Harutyunyan thanked the Prime Minister for his assessment,  collaboration, and support. "For many years, my staff and I have done  everything possible to facilitate the Prime Minister's work and  advance the issues raised with them. I believe we have a fairly good  personnel management system, and for this I want to thank my  colleagues gathered here, each of whom has contributed to this  effort. I am confident that they will ensure continuity. We have  completed the transition phase, Ms. Makunts is well informed about  the ongoing processes, and I am ready to continue to support her,"  noted Arayik Harutyunyan.

In turn, Lilit Makunts thanked Nikol Pashinyan for the trust  and  noted that she will do everything possible to meet the Prime  Minister's expectations. At the same time, Lilit Makunts expressed  confidence that future work with the Prime Minister's Office will be  constructive and effective.

Summing up, the Prime Minister noted that much work is expected in  the near future, which is part of the broad agenda the authorities  have set for themselves. "I formulate this ambitious agenda as one  for the sustainable development of Armenian statehood, but, of  course, the next five years will open up new opportunities for us and  bring new challenges. I hope that we will be able to realize these  opportunities and overcome them. We already have an experienced  apparatus, and this has both advantages and disadvantages. The  advantage is that accumulated experience is certainly a resource that  we must be able to utilize. The disadvantage is that the routine  nature of this work can indeed lead to certain numbness, and we must  do everything to avoid this numbness. I am convinced that we can do  this together, including with the support of our parliamentary  colleagues and by constantly reviewing our work," the head of state  said.
