Forecaster: No abnormal heat or unexpected cold snap expected in Armenia in August

ArmInfo. This August, both air and ambient temperatures in Armenia will be within the climatic norm. This was announced by Gagik Surenyan, Deputy Director of the Center for Hydrometeorology and Monitoring of the RA Ministry of Environment.

According to him, this means that neither abnormal heat nor unexpected cold snaps are expected throughout the month. Surenyan noted that residents of the country can expect a balanced August, typical for the region's climate.

It should be noted that according to the Center, a high level of fire danger is expected from August 1-5 in the Ararat Valley and Yerevan, in the foothills of Aragatsotn, Kotayk, and Vayots Dzor, as well as in the valleys of Syunik. Brief rains and thunderstorms are expected in some areas of the country on the evenings of August 1-2 and 5. No precipitation is expected from August 3rd to 4th. Southeasterly winds will gust up to 2-5 m/s. From August 1st to 5th, in the Armavir region, at the foot of Aragatsotn and Kotayk, and in some areas of the Shirak region, wind gusts to 15-18 m/s are expected in the evening. However, temperatures will remain unchanged.

No precipitation is expected in Yerevan from August 1st to 3rd to 5th. Short-term rain and thunderstorms are possible in some areas of the city on the evening of August 2nd. Wind gusts are expected to increase to 14-17 m/s from August 1st to 5th. Daytime temperatures in the capital on August 1st will be 34-36 Celsius, evening temperatures will be 29-31 Celsius, and overnight temperatures will be 21-23 Celsius.
