ArmInfo. The 9th Yerevan Book Fest (YBF) will take place from September 4th to 6th this year.
The festival will take place at Republic Square, the History Museum of Armenia, and the Yeghishe Charents Museum of Literature and Art. This year, the festival's main theme will be language that creates bridges, not borders.
Annually, YBF attracts approximately 40,000 visitors, sells approximately 18,000 books, and receives up to 500 applications for literary competitions.
The festival events feature 250 writers, literary professionals, and international guests from 15 countries. More than 50 publishing houses participate in the book fair. The festival also implements an international publishing program to translate and publish works by five Armenian authors.
According to established tradition, the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports, together with the festival, is announcing a literary competition, the winners of which will be determined in the following categories: "Prose," "Poetry," and "Children's and Youth Literature." and "Drama." Armenian writers can apply until August 10th.
In addition, this year will see the William Saroyan Short Story and Western Armenian Poetry Competitions, which are now open to citizens of all countries.
The winners will be announced on September 6th during the closing ceremony of the 9th Yerevan International Book Festival.
Visitors to the YBF will enjoy the Armenian Book Fair with mandatory discounts on books; a rich cultural program, including book presentations, exclusive meetings with Armenian and foreign authors, discussions, master classes, theatrical performances, stand-up comedy, and musical events; The Fellowship program is an international publishing collaboration platform aimed at developing new partnerships, creating professional networks, exchanging ideas, and promoting Armenian literature internationally.
