ArmInfo. Liparit Drmeyan, a member of the Wings of Unity party and former head of the Office of the Representative of Armenia on International Legal Affairs, has filed a lawsuit against Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. He announced this in a conversation with journalists on July 31.
The politician noted that the statements made by the Armenian prime minister at a briefing on July 31 were completely untrue and constituted information defamatory of his honor and dignity. "In this regard, I decided to defend my rights in accordance with the procedure established by Armenian law—through the courts. I have filed a claim demanding a retraction of the defamatory statements. This concerns all the statements regarding the fulfillment of my obligations during the arbitration proceedings, the existence of a conflict of interest, and so on. All of them are untrue; moreover, they were presented in a context that defame my honor and dignity," Drmeyan noted.
He also clarified that he has not yet filed a claim for compensation in his claim, but noted that Armenian law allows to edit the claim. "Since everything happened so quickly, at this point I have only filed a claim for a retraction of this information," Drmeyan concluded.
