ArmInfo. Early this morning, law enforcement officers conducted a search at the residence of Narek Karapetyan, a member of the board of the Strong Armenia party and a member of the National Assembly.
Speaking to reporters, lawyer and party member Aram Vardevanyan stated that the operation was carried out within the framework of a known criminal case, describing it as an interference in Narek Karapetyan's political activities.
According to Vardevanyan, the necessity and proportionality of the search were not justified. In his opinion, sufficient grounds for such an intensive procedural operation were not presented. The lawyer emphasized that Narek Karapetyan already holds the status of a member of the National Assembly, and under these circumstances, the actions taken against him should have met a higher threshold of justification.
Vardevanyan noted that, since the search is a secret procedural procedure, he cannot publish any additional details. The lawyer only stated that the legal team will appeal the search decision, and the results will be announced later.
