ArmInfo. Ara Nakhshkaryan has been detained as part of an ongoing criminal investigation into the giving and receiving of election bribes. The Anti-Corruption Committee of Armenia told ArmInfo.
"Today, as part of a criminal investigation initiated by the RA Anti-Corruption Committee related to the giving and receiving of electoral bribes, A.N., a candidate for parliament on the Armenia bloc list, was detained," the Committee's statement reads.
Recall, public and political figure Ara Nakhshkaryan is a member of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation (ARF) Dashnaktsutyun party. He was detained early on the morning of July 29 at his home in Gyumri. Nakhshkaryan is on the "Armenia" bloc list for the parliamentary elections.
