ArmInfo. Hayk Konjoryan, head of the ruling "Civil Contract" faction in the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia of the eighth convocation, has announced the launch of a criminal investigation into the beating of his brother. He also stated that he will file lawsuits against anyone who spreads false information or slanders him in connection with this incident.
"I would like to make a few clarifications regarding the videos circulated online the day before yesterday and some of the comments on them. 1. A criminal case has been launched in connection with the beating of my brother. The matter is within the competence of law enforcement agencies, and I am confident that all those who used violence will be held legally accountable. 2. Any manifestation of violence, be it physical, psychological, or any other, is absolutely unacceptable, regardless of who committed it. 3. In the Republic of Armenia, the only acceptable way to regulate labor or interpersonal relations is the law and legal procedure. Any illegal manifestation of the regulation of relations deserves condemnation. 4. All circumstances related to this incident are subject to exclusively legal assessment.
Some political speculations are aimed at linking the incident or various circumstances preceding it with my person, which is impossible, since I can under no circumstances be involved in a process that goes beyond the logic of the law and the rule of law, regardless of whose side I am on. "I am in this process. This has been and remains a red line for me. 5. I will file lawsuits against anyone who spreads false information and slander against me, both in connection with this incident and in any other matters, related or unrelated. Any act of slander will entail legal consequences for those who commit it," Kondjorian wrote on his Facebook page.
