U.S. willing to assist in developing Armenia`s cybersecurity capacity  - MIA

ArmInfo.  During a meeting with Armenian Interior Minister Arpine Sargsyan, U.S. Charge  d'Affaires David Allen reaffirmed the U.S. side's readiness to  continue supporting initiatives aimed at developing the country's  cybersecurity capacity.  According to the Armenian Interior  Ministry's press service, the parties discussed legislative changes  in cybersecurity and opportunities for developing professional  skills. It was noted that the procurement process to replenish  the  cyber laboratory with the support of American partners, is nearing  completion.

During the meeting, the two sides highly appreciated the effective  bilateral cooperation, thanks to which tangible results are  consistently achieved. The Charge d'Affaires introduced Karim  Qureshi, the new head of the U.S. Embassy's Security Service, to the  Minister. The latter presented  his professional path, his  experience, and expressed  willingness to cooperate with the Armenian  side. Sargsyan congratulated Qureshi on his appointment and expressed  hope that during his tenure, bilateral relations would gain new  momentum and expand.

Reference was made to the educational programs implemented by the  Armenian Ministry of Internal Affairs to enhance the competence of  police and Rescue Service personnel. Particular emphasis was placed  on initiatives aimed at  improve border guard training (the border  service is not under the jurisdiction of the Armenian Ministry of  Internal Affairs - ed.), and  US support in this regard.  The parties  reached an agreement on expanding cooperation in areas related to the  Rescue Service and the Police Guard, reaffirming their willingness to  further strengthen the effective partnership.
