Pashinyan-Putin phone conversation  shows that existing problems are  not only unresolved, but also tending to worsen

ArmInfo. The telephone conversation between Pashinyan and Putin and the subsequent exchange of information show that existing problems are not only not being  resolved but are actually tending to worsen. Tigran Abrahamyan,  former deputy from the opposition "With Honor" faction, wrote on his  Facebook page. 

According to him, if the Armenian authorities are attempting to  secretly implement the decision to initiate a confrontation, Moscow  is directly escalating the situation. "Two things are obvious: Moscow  is trying to push the referendum in Armenia onto the agenda by  raising the issue of the EU or the EAEU. And secondly, Russia appears  to have set a deadline for Armenia to respond to the issues it has  raised, after which it will act much more harshly. Among other  problems and numerous threats, the problem is that, at least for now,  ordinary citizens are suffering from the fierce confrontation," the  former parliamentarian noted.

Recall that the day before, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan,  during a telephone conversation with Russian President Vladimir  Putin, emphasized that restrictions on the export of goods of  Armenian origin to the Russian market contradict the Armenian-Russian  legal framework and the provisions of the Eurasian Economic Union  (EAEU). Pashinyan urged measures to be taken to resolve these issues.  This was stated in the context of an exchange of views on the agenda  of Armenian-Russian relations, particularly regarding issues arising  in bilateral economic relations. Regarding the referendum  on  Armenia's accession to the European Union, which is mentioned in the  joint statement of the leaders of the four EAEU member states adopted  on May 29 of this year, Pashinyan emphasized that holding a  referendum is practically possible only after Armenia submits an  official application for EU membership and makes this issue  substantive. At the same time, Pashinyan emphasized the readiness of  the Armenian government to resolve the aforementioned issues through  an open, partnership-based, and friendly dialogue.
