ArmInfo. The health condition of Andranik Tevanyan, leader of the "Mother Armenia" party, has sharply deteriorated during a medical examination on the morning of July 20, according to a statement from the movement's press service.
The source notes that Tevanyan experienced a sharp drop in blood pressure. Prior to his detention in the penitentiary institution, he had reportedly never suffered from blood pressure issues or any major health problems. Initially, authorities at the facility decided to call an ambulance as Tevanyan's condition was evaluated as critical, but the decision was reversed a short time later after facility officials determined that his condition was gradually normalizing and there was no longer a threat to his life.
"Currently, Tevanyan's health condition has stabilized, his well-being is satisfactory, and he is under the supervision of the penitentiary's medical staff," the statement reads.
The party's press service added that Tevanyan expresses his gratitude to the medical and facility staff for their professional and humane treatment.
