ArmInfo. The Yerevan Court of First Instance, presided over by Judge Karakekhyan, has ruled in favor of Karen Jalavyan ("Kyokh"), Commander of the "Yeghniker" military unit and Hero of Artsakh, in his defamation lawsuit against blogger Roman Baghdasaryan.
During the hearing held on July 20, 2026, the court ordered Baghdasaryan to publish a formal retraction on his Facebook page, stating: "I, Roman Baghdasaryan, publicly declare that the statements I made on February 5, 2026, on my Facebook page—alleging that Karen Jalavyan (Kyokh) stole food intended for soldiers, left them without water, mocked and humiliated them in Yeghniker, caused them to starve, and that Kyokh is a person who has always hated soldiers from Armenia—are not true." Furthermore, the court ordered Baghdasaryan to pay Jalavyan 100,000 drams in compensation for moral damages.
It should be noted that on October 1, 2020, during the 44-day war, the fourth President of Artsakh, Arayik Harutyunyan (currently held in Azerbaijani captivity), awarded Karen Jalavyan the title of Hero of Artsakh, the state's highest honor.
