ArmInfo. In the first half of 2026, patrol officers solved 2,288 crimes, according to a statement from the press service of the Armenian Ministry of Internal Affairs.
The ministry noted that as a result of effective measures taken, the number of detections of both illegal drug trafficking and illegally stored weapons and ammunition has increased.
"The number of detected drugs increased by 80 cases compared to the same period last year, reaching 1,300, while the number of weapons and ammunition detected increased by 35 cases, reaching a total of 132. The number of cases of illegally stored weapons increased by 19.9%," the Armenian Ministry of Internal Affairs reported. It is also noted that, thanks to outreach efforts conducted by patrol officers among the population, the number of voluntary surrenders of illegally held weapons and ammunition has increased.
As a result of consistent measures, cases of physical violence, hooliganism, theft, bodily harm, vehicle theft, and illegal tree felling have been identified.
"Also noteworthy is the detection rate of forged documents. While 60 cases were recorded in the first half of last year, this year the number has reached 301. Of these, 300 were cases of counterfeit driver's licenses. As a result of patrol officers' efforts to identify wanted individuals, 90 citizens were identified, compared to 51 in the same period last year," the Armenian Ministry of Internal Affairs added.
