Former Gyumri Mayor transferred to house arrest

ArmInfo. The Anti-Corruption Court has modified the preventive measure for the former Mayor of Gyumri, Vardan Ghukasyan, placing him under house  arrest for a period of three months.

Ghukasyan had been in custody since October 2025. His release to  house arrest was granted upon the posting of a 15 million AMD bail.

Recall, Ghukasyan was arrested on corruption charges. The  Anti-Corruption Committee has accused Ghukasyan and seven other  individuals of extortion and bribery, including the receipt of 4  million AMD (approximately $10,000) for the legalization of an  illegally constructed building in the city.
