ArmInfo. Mass printing of new-generation Armenian passports has begun in the Netherlands. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Armenia.
According to the source, Interior Minister Arpine Sargsyan, leading a departmental delegation, visited the production facility of the French company IN Groupe in Haarlem, the Netherlands, where the new Armenian passports and ID cards are manufactured.
During the visit, the technical and design solutions for the new documents were finalized, and final adjustments were made to ensure their full compliance with international security standards and user expectations.
It is noted that by symbolically pressing a button, Interior Minister Arpine Sargsyan officially launched the mass printing of the new passports.
The Ministry noted that the new documents undergo multi-stage quality control and international certification as highly secure documents that meet advanced global security standards.
"The first batch of new ID cards has already been delivered to Armenia. Transportation of the new passports will begin soon," the Armenian Ministry of Internal Affairs reported.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs noted that the issuance of new-generation passports and ID cards will begin this fall in partnership with a private partner. Citizens will be able to obtain the new documents both in Yerevan and at new offices opening in various regions of the country.
As a reminder, the Armenian government approved a new model for issuing biometric passports and ID cards in 2024, based on a public-private partnership. IN Groupe is a French company specializing in the production of secure documents, biometric passports, national ID cards, and other digital identification solutions.
In May 2026, a delegation from the Ministry of Internal Affairs, led by Arpine Sargsyan, learned about the document production process, including the production of the polycarbonate personal data page, visa pages, and security features. During the passport development, special attention was paid to compliance with International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) standards, personal data protection, and the use of modern anti-counterfeiting technologies.
