ArmInfo.Following its historic debut in Florida, the Armenian pickleball team is now preparing for the 2026 World Cup, which will be held in Da Nang, Vietnam.
As the National Pickleball Association of Armenia (NPAA) told ArmInfo, the team's debut was a significant and proud milestone for Armenian sports. The Armenian national team secured 33rd place out of 68 participating countries, proving that even a young team from a nation where pickleball is still in its infancy possesses great potential, passion, and the drive to compete at the international level. The experience at the World Cup in Florida provided the Armenian players with invaluable knowledge, new connections, and the confidence needed for further growth. Upon returning home, the team significantly intensified their training regimen, conducting regular practices, developing team coordination, and refining their technical skills.
Today, armed with greater experience and more rigorous preparation, the Armenian national team is ready to open a new chapter in its history in Vietnam. "The journey to Vietnam is more than just participating in a tournament. It is a story about the development of a new sport, the result of the hard work of Armenian players, and a belief that Armenia is capable of achieving great success on the international sports stage," the NPAA stated.
Mirtad Gazazyan, Chairman of the National Pickleball Association of Armenia, and team captain Alexander Andranikyan noted that the World Cup in Vietnam represents a new opportunity to showcase the spirit, character, and dedication of Armenian athletes to the world. "Our goal is to continue improving and to represent our country with pride," they noted.
Recall, the National Pickleball Association of Armenia is actively working to develop and popularize the sport within Armenia, creating new opportunities for players of all ages, fostering youth sports, and ensuring Armenia's presence on the international sports arena.
