ArmInfo. Moscow and Yerevan are bound by a special relationship and sincere love between the peoples of the two countries. This was stated by Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova in an interview with blogger Olga Blagoveshchenskaya.
"For us, Armenia is not just a sovereign state-of course, that is true. It is sovereign, independent, a state with ancient roots and a stunning culture. But it is also a state with which we have a special relationship due to our shared history, due to so many things we have in common: shared families, projects, businesses, intertwined destinies. That's how I would describe it," the diplomat said.
According to her, Armenia and Russia are bound by a vast, shared world. She added that, among other things, the countries are linked by interstate relations. "From our side, there's always been nothing but help and support, which, in my opinion, was linked both to geopolitical factors, as diplomats say, and to what I call love. A sincere love between peoples and cultures, mutual understanding-those are true bonds," the Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson noted.
Zakharova noted that it is in this spirit that Russia has built and continues to build relations with Armenia.
"I'm not even mentioning how much the Russian president has personally done to stop bloody conflicts and assist during difficult times, and to do everything possible to ensure Armenia's development. So much has truly been accomplished in terms of economics, energy, industry, and so on. This is our approach, and we adhere to it," she said.
