ArmInfo. Aregnaz Manukyan, a board member of the "Mother Armenia" party, has been detained as part of an investigation into the disclosure of state secrets conducted by the Investigative Committee of Armenia. The Committee has formally petitioned the court to authorize her arrest, as reported to ArmInfo by the press service of the Investigative Committee.
The agency stated that Manukyan is a suspect in a case initiated under Part 1 of Article 427 of the Criminal Code of Armenia (publication of information classified as a state secret). "Manukyan has been detained and will be brought before the court to determine a preventive measure. A motion for her arrest has been filed," the Committee reported.
Earlier on the morning of July 9, Manuk Sukiasyan, head of the "Mother Armenia" faction in the Yerevan Council of Elders, announced on his Facebook page that law enforcement officers had arrived at Aregnaz Manukyan's residence and taken her into custody.
It is worth noting that on June 12, 2026, searches were also conducted at Manukyan's apartment. At that time, the Investigative Committee stated that those investigative actions were carried out as part of a criminal proceeding related to espionage and high treason.
