ArmInfo. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has ordered the creation of an interagency working group to review the implementation of his May 15, 2026, decision regarding the organization of summer vacations for children, as well as to examine media reports related to its implementation. The corresponding decision was published on the official website of the Armenian government.
According to the document, the task force is reviewing the implementation of the decision, which established an interagency commission to organize summer vacations for children aged 7 to 13 from socially vulnerable groups. The program provides for vacations for the children of fallen military personnel, children with disabilities, orphans, children from low-income families, and children from national minorities in two ten-day shifts, beginning June 20, 2026. The list of children's health camps is determined separately by authorized state bodies.
The working group is headed by Armenak Khachatryan, Deputy Chief of Staff to the Prime Minister of Armenia. It includes Deputy Minister of Finance Avag Avanesyan, Head of the Legal Department of the Prime Minister's Office Hayk Kesoyan, Head of the Social Affairs Department of the Prime Minister's Office Sergey Tashchyan, and Head of the Social Sphere Control Department of the State Control Service David Ayvazyan.
The working group must submit a final report to the Prime Minister with the results of its inspection by July 30, 2026.
The Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure, the Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports, the Minister of Health, the Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, and the Governor of the Kotayk Province are obligated to ensure the participation of invited officials in the group's work.
It's worth noting that days earlier, Armenian media reported that summer camps, funded by the state, were organized in the resort area of Tsaghkadzor for children aged 7 to 13 from vulnerable families in various regions of Armenia. However, the conditions the children found themselves in were far from ideal. They were even deprived of proper hygiene.
