
ArmInfo. Armenia and Russia have reached a number of agreements. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced this to journalists during a briefing on July 9, commenting on the results of his meeting with his Russian counterpart, Mikhail Mishustin.
He also noted that he and the Russian Prime Minister had an open, honest, and friendly conversation. He declined to disclose any details about the agreements reached, noting that they would become known once they were implemented.
As a reminder, a telephone conversation between the prime ministers of Armenia and Russia took place on July 1, at the initiative of the Armenian side. Subsequently, information about Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's participation as a speaker at the INNOPROM-2026 exhibition website appeared.
As a reminder, the Russian authorized bodies-Rospotrebnadzor and Rosselkhoznadzor-imposed restrictions on the export of agricultural products and flowers from Armenia to the markets of the EAEU countries. The authorities' official statements stated that the reason for these restrictions was the identified violations.
It is worth noting that Armenia traditionally exported approximately 90% of its fresh agricultural produce to the Russian market. Flowers were also primarily supplied to the EAEU market and the UAE.
In response to the current situation and the difficulties facing Armenian producers, the government has developed several programs to support exports to European markets, including compensation for transportation costs and customs duties.
According to the Statistical Committee of the Republic of Armenia, foreign trade turnover between Armenia and the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) decreased by 19% in January-May 2026, amounting to $2.3 billion. Exports decreased by 3.8% to $1.1 billion, while imports declined by 29.1% to $1.2 billion.
