ArmInfo. One of Hollywood's most promising producers, Sev Ohanyan, who was nominated for an Academy Award for his film "Sinners" back in March of this year, will be the guest of honor at the 23rd Golden Apricot International Film Festival.
As the festival's press service told ArmInfo, Ohanyan has produced or co-produced nearly 20 films since 2010. Most of them have either achieved significant commercial success or won the most prestigious American film awards. His projects include Aneesh Chaganty's Searching (2018), which is not only considered one of the finest examples of the screenlife genre (films set entirely on a computer screen) but also grossed $75 million worldwide on a budget of $880,000; Shaka King's Judas and the Black Messiah (2021), nominated for five Academy Awards; and Ryan Coogler's Sinners (2025), which is noted to be the most nominated film in Oscar history.
The 23rd Golden Apricot International Film Festival will also feature the Yerevan premiere of Sev Ohanyan's directorial debut, the comedy My Big Fat Armenian Family (2008). The Golden Apricot Film Festival will be held this year from July 13 to 19. Film screenings will be held at the Moskva and Nairi cinemas, as well as the Dom Kino.
