"Starting June 13, citizens of the Republic of Armenia staying in the United Arab Emirates for non- residential purposes, as well as citizens of the UAE not residing in the Republic of Armenia, are allowed to drive throughout the country using their national driver's licenses. Those seeking to exchange their driver's licenses, provided they have a residence permit, are exempt from the requirement to take the theoretical and practical exams required by this procedure. Driver's licenses of the two countries are mutually recognized without additional procedures or re-validation," the ministry's statement reads. The Armenian Ministry of Internal Affairs also mentioned that the memorandum was signed on September 30, 2025, between Interior Minister Arpine Sargsyan and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior of the Emirates, Lieutenant General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
"This initiative once again demonstrates that the dynamically developing cooperation between the Republic of Armenia and the UAE in recent years also provides opportunities that make everyday life easier for citizens," the Armenian Ministry of Internal Affairs concluded.
