ArmInfo.By the decree of Armenian President Vahagn Khachaturyan, Armenian Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates Karen Grigoryan has been appointed concurrently as Armenia's Ambassador to Pakistan (residence in Abu Dhabi). The corresponding decree has been published on the website of the Armenian President.
This is the first ambassador appointed by Armenia to Pakistan since the establishment of diplomatic relations between Yerevan and Islamabad.
Recall, on September 1, 2025, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan and Pakistani Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar signed a joint communique on the establishment of diplomatic relations between Armenia and Pakistan. Pakistan had not previously recognized Armenia's independence, due to Pakistan's pro-Azerbaijani stance on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. Pakistan not only supported Azerbaijan on the Artsakh issue but also participated in Azerbaijan's large-scale aggression against the self-determined republic in the fall of 2020.
