ArmInfo. The Urban Development Committee of Armenia has announced that dust suppression measures are now mandatory at all construction sites across the country.
The Committee noted that as of January 2026, construction companies were granted a transition period to procure the necessary equipment and prepare their sites for compliance. This regulation has now been in effect for one month. The Committee urges all developers to strictly adhere to these new standards, emphasizing the importance of responsible construction practices and environmental protection. Key compliance requirements are the following:
Emission Control Systems: Throughout the duration of construction, sites must utilize air purification and dust suppression technologies, including dust collectors, dust extractors, water mist generators, and low- emission equipment.
Air Quality Monitoring: All construction sites are now required to be equipped with air quality monitoring devices.
Site Infrastructure: Temporary roads must be paved with concrete or other solid surfaces. Any remaining unpaved areas must be covered with a layer of gravel to effectively prevent dust generation.
Operational Standards: Developers are mandated to maintain proper site equipment, perform regular cleaning, install dust barriers and protective netting, and ensure strict compliance with guidelines regarding the transportation and storage of construction materials.
