ArmInfo. Georgia's Minister of Education, Givi Mikanadze, announced that the authorities have decided to change the concept of school textbooks, and from now on, national values will be featured on their covers.
As the minister explained, the cover of the chemistry textbook will depict the process of pressing Georgian wine.
The biology textbook will feature five ears of Georgian grain, while the Georgian language textbook will include appeals and quotes from Patriarch Ilia II. Quote:
"In the Georgian language textbook, one of the sections ends with his [Ilia II's] famous phrase 'Georgia, I love you' and his photograph. There are many issues that are deeply emotional and valuable to us.
In one of the parts, we will have Ilia Chavchavadze, who says: 'Homeland, language, faith,' and Ilia II, who says: 'God, Homeland, human.'
We are introducing these national components into the educational process as much as possible; a complete restructuring of the principles and goals of textbooks is taking place," the publication Tabula quotes him as saying.
